The Nerf Longshot is nowadays a highly sought after gun that has a fantastic modding potential. Besides the pistol attachment at the front the longshot is a great gun. I will be talking about six topics in this review and it is my first time reviewing a nerf gun so please bear with me!
Affordability
First I will talk about the affordability of the Nerf Longshot CS-6. It is a fairly priced gun since it can be modded to shoot a significant distance. It costs $45 at Big W and about $50 on eBay. If you are looking for the blue longshot then it would cost around $75+ so if your on a budget you might just want to get the cheaper version which is the yellow version. Compared to the Longstrike the Longshot is more expensive as seen on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Nerf-N-Strike-Longstrike-CS-6-Blaster/dp/B002V1B2J4 as the Longstrike is $30 compared to $50 on eBay.
What it comes with
In the box the set comes with a pistol attachment (front gun), the gun itself, one six dart clip, six darts, an instruction manual and a scope. I particularly like the scope even though it is very inaccurate when you aim with it because it looks aesthetically pleasing to me.
Ranges
The ranges of the Longshot are basically the same when compared to the Longstrike but when the Longshot is modified it shoots a much more farther then the Longstrike as the Longstrike is hard to modify due to its reverse plunger system.
Ammo capacity
The ammo capacity of the Longshot can go up to 35 darts with the 35 dart drum that comes with the Raider although most Nerfers now use the 18 dart drum as it is cheaper to get and is also lighter.
Modding Potential
The modding potential of the Longshot CS-6 is very great as you can modify it to shoot 100ft+ if done correctly. If you can’t do it yourself then I suggest visiting this website for a commission: http://nerfcastle.weebly.com/commissions.html
The Longshot when modded is far more superior in my opinion than the Longstrike when carrying out range tests as it shoots the bullets more straight and fast.
Overall
I would give this gun a 7/10 because it has a lot of potential even though the front gun is practically useless.
